Alimatu Afriyie’s story

Alimatu Afriyie’s story

I am 35 years old with three children from Nerebehi in the Atwima Nwabiagya Municipality. I was unemployed and in the house relying on my husband for everything. It was a difficult time. I was always watching television. However, whenever, there is an opportunity in construction like fetching water for construction works, I will quickly for there for employment. There was a lot of pressure on my husband. Life at this time was not easy for me. I was looking for an opportunity to learn soap making but those that I approach to teach me were charging me that I could not afford.

Because of CIRCDev’s women economic empowerment training program, I now produce and sell thick bleach, fabric softener and liquid soap. They supported me to start my business and helped me to sustain the business. They gave me education in managing the finances of the business and how to keep records on the business. They taught me how to win and keep a customer.

I am so much relieved of the difficulties I was going through. My family is now relieved since I support my husband to cater for the family.

Thank you CIRCDev
